Alberto Gaspar
Alberto Gaspar is a choreographer, performer, and educator whose work moves fluidly between classical ballet and contemporary creation. He is equally drawn to full-length narrative works and more exploratory, concept-driven pieces, allowing his practice to evolve across forms rather than remain within a single genre.
At the core of his work is an ongoing inquiry into the body as both structure and experience. His choreography often explores the architecture within space—how movement builds form, and how that form transforms into emotion. Through this process, the stage becomes a living environment where physical design and inner experience meet.
Influenced by spiritual, religious, and philosophical traditions, Gaspar’s work invites audiences into a space of reflection. His pieces create moments where perception shifts, encouraging introspection and, at times, a soft dissolution of identity—allowing viewers to encounter something more essential within themselves.
Originally from Mexico City, he has performed with companies including Miami City Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Ballet Memphis, and Olympic Ballet Theatre. His choreographic work has been presented in collaboration with Ballet Memphis, Saint Louis Ballet School, Cascadia Art Museum, and the National School of Dance in Mexico through FONCA support.
Based in Seattle, he continues to develop work across performance, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
